Domaine Bizet - Sancerre Rouge 2016
Sancerre is famous for the dry fresh white wines made from the Sauvignon Blanc. Less well known, but certainly just as good, is the Sancerre Rouge. It is made from the Pinot Noir grape. It is a vibrant, light and elegant red wine which can be enjoyed lightly chilled. Think of an aperitif with cheese or charcuterie or at dinner with white meat or surprise with baked fish.
Thibault Bizet is one of our first winemakers whose wine we wanted to have in our range when we took over the wine store. It's a young man who has taken over his parents' business for a number of years after studying. His parents still help in the background and are working biologically, so without the use of fertilizers and chemical pesticides.
